Titled ‘Invaders’ , Christian Dada’s Fall 2015 collection showed at Garage Lubeck in Paris this March, paying tribute to the legendary American skater , Jay Adams, who passed away of a heart attack just last August.
Designer Masonori Morikawa expressed the triumphant days of the Z-Boys, leading to the rise of the skateboarding culture in the 70s in Dogtown, California, by show casing his own version of the deconstructed aesthetic, infusing punk with high-waisted, ripped denim cropped as shorts, leather bikers, distressed tartan and striped t-shirts.
Two season after Paris Men’s Fashion Week, Christian Dada made a debut with his Women’s Fall 15 collection: Valentine, at the Tokyo Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.
Set in the same era as his accompanying Mens ‘Invaders’ collection, he takes inspiration from French model and stylist Valentine Fillol-Cordier, infusing his distinctive rock aesthetic with a dark romantic vibe. Brocades, pleats, leather and embroidery permeate the collection to instill in us a feminine but strong and mysterious Christian Dada woman.
