Palm Angels | We Are The Generation™

Francesco Ragazzi, Italian art director and photographer and Monclear art director, is the founder behind L.A label Palm Angels. Inspired by Californian skate culture, as well as the paintings from Giotto’s Scrovegni chapel for his inaugural collection, this Fall 16, he has taken the brand in the direction of Grunge, with the help of Bob Marley’s song titled Exodus. Following an assassination attempt which both he and his wife survived, Marley recorded Exodus after he was exiled to London. This song also became the No.1 hit in Jamaica, the United Kingdom and Germany, with the line “We know where we’re going” used in the campaign slogan by Jamaican Prime Minister Michael Manley in 1976.

In honour of this, along with the message that “We are the generation”,  the colours that make up the Jamaican flag can be seen lining the collars of sweaters, on zipper jackets and on headpieces. There is patchwork, camouflage prints, cut-off ripped jeans, kilts and the signature Marijuana leaf emblem altogether in this mix.
